Here are the usual steps for installing a TV antenna/preamplifier
Step 1: Gather Materials
Just like any other process. The first step should always be about the material. Materials that may be required for this activity are listed below.
- TV antenna amplifier itself
- TV cable (coaxial cable)
- Clamps (e.g. U-bolts)
- TV plus antenna
- Power injector or power supply
Coaxial cable is recommended, but the copper-plated cable will work too. The only problem with copper plating is that it may not work as well at long distances. Use a coaxial cable if available.
Once you have accumulated the above items, you can now complete the remaining steps. Double-check the condition of each item on hand to ensure a smooth installation.
Step 2: Actually Installing the TV Antenna Amplifier
The following steps must be performed in order:

- Another important component is the power injector or power supply. Install it inside the house (or building).
- No other equipment should be inserted between the TV antenna amplifier and the power injector/power supply. Failure to do so may result in voltage blocking. As mentioned above, TV antenna amplifiers rely on electrical charges to amplify the signal from the antenna itself. Blockage can result in an 80% drop in signal.
- The cable connected from TV OUT (output port) must be connected to a power injector/power supply. The above cable must be plugged into the From Ant port of the power injector/power supply. Also, some brands may have a different naming system, so be sure to consult the manual or call customer service when in doubt.
- A port in the power injector/power supply is named To TV. Another cable should be connected to this port. The other end of the cable should connect to your TV or splitter.
- Care should be taken when using splitters as the signal may deteriorate. A splitter is a device used to split a received signal for use by multiple television screens. Adding a separator makes the overall system more complex. This means adding another place of failure. Make sure the separator is installed correctly.

Step 3: Testing Phase
